Tip of the week – Don’t let others impose limits upon your dreams

Tip of the week:

Don’t let others impose limits upon your dreams

I’m sure that I’m stealing this week’s tip of the week from somewhere, but I’m not sure where. I have no idea which particular variant of it that I’ve heard, but essentially don’t let other people project their own limitations and doubts onto you. Just because they couldn’t do something or even imagine being fit enough or motivated enough to take part in an event it doesn’t mean that you can’t. If someone does tell you that you can’t achieve your dream then it is your duty to do the appropriate preparation and prove them utterly wrong.

Personally my current long distance goal is to complete Ironman Wales in 2013 and everything between now and then will serve some purpose in getting me to achieve that Goal. My dream meanwhile is somewhat loftier, but I’ll leave that for another day.

Tip of the week – Fill your spare time with exercise.

Tip of the week:

Fill your spare time with exercise

For this tip of the week figure out how much time you can spend exercising in your normal week and then do as much as you can in that time. Keep increasing the distance as you get fitter so you do more miles in the same time. This will keep your metabolism high and and keep the pounds dropping off. Remember that you need to be doing at least thirty minutes of exercise five times a week and it should be hard enough to work up a sweat and get you out of breath.
